Briar Steading is fully carpeted throughout apart from both en-suite bathrooms which have travertine gloss floor tiles and the kitchen / dining area which has vinyl flooring.
Your safety: Briar Steading is equipped with heat, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and houses a fire blanket. There is a choice of 4 doors to exit should there be a need to vacate the cottage promptly. Fire safety instructions will be pointed out and explained to you on arrival.

New Heat Alarms were added in 2022 and smoke alarms upgraded (10 years)
Pat Tests are completed by a qualified local electrician annually. It is no longer a requirement to place labels on the equipment however we have a detailed report that is available to guests on request. Our latest PAT test was completed and passed on 13th June 2024
Briar Steading's wood burning stove flu is cleaned and inspected annually. The Carbon Monoxide Alarm was installed in 2019 and has a 10 year guarantee (2029). The test button is checked before each new guest arrives as per the fire log book entry.
A Fire Safety risk assessment is carried out annually and updated as relevant (guests are welcome to view on request)
Legionnaires: Our cottages supply mains water. We practice regular 3 monthly intense cleaning of shower heads as per our Legionnaires Risk Assesment (guests are welcome to view on request)
